2021 Biennale College Cinema Virtual Reality international, 12th – 19th January on RAUM platform; Alternative Realities director Ana Corrie (UK), producer Valentina Noya (Italy).
Synopsis
When four teenagers from very different backgrounds (and historical periods) get trapped in a virtual world where all realities exist and time isn’t linear, they must work together to find their way back. One of the four is Greek mathematician Hypatia, and through her mathematical vision she will lead the others into the most exhilarating adventures as they try to understand who’s behind the dangers and enigmas they have to face to go home.
Concept:
A virtual reality project designed for users to explore the artful nature of mathematics through immersive storytelling, emotional design, and stunning animated content. Through the power of emotion, we aim to help break down actual mental barriers and preconceptions people have built around maths. Our design goal is for users to feel surprise, delight and intrigue in this first-person narrative, and for them to connect this riveting experience to mathematics.
During this workshop we received training, project development, and production support, which has been an invaluable experience for the R&D of the virtual reality series we are developing with an extraordinary team of professionals
